Eating disorder recovery coaching with Gemma

Hi there! My name is Gemma. I’m here to support you with your eating disorder recovery journey. I am a certified eating disorder recovery coach with The Carolyn Costin Institute. I am passionate about helping you reach full recovery. Having faced my own eating disorder and recovered – I know it is possible.
I hold a Master of Science degree in psychology and a post graduate certificate in CBT interventions for severe mental health difficulties. This compliments my coaching training from the Carolyn Costin Institute and my lived experience and equips me with a whole range of skills and experience to help you find YOUR recovered. Everyone’s journey is unique and everyone’s recoverED will look different, but I believe recovery is possible for us all!
I have first-hand experience of how hard work and perseverance with the right support and accountability can lead to overcoming the most difficult of mental health struggles and going on to live a full life. Having that person who has been there and can offer in-the-moment support can make all the difference. As a coach, I offer flexible support and in-between session support for those situations that arise and can be the difference needed to achieve your goals. These are the moments when recovery truly happens.
Alongside coaching, I work part-time as a mental health wellbeing practitioner, a brand new NHS role in which I take a coaching role to support patients experiencing severe mental health symptoms to work towards their goals and improve their quality of life. This means I can take an integrative approach to supporting you and have a thorough understanding of any co-occuring mental health problems you may have. I will be able to take these into account and tailor my approach accordingly. My coaching role is not a replacement for therapy, but practical support to help you implement your recovery goals set by your treatment team.
I have received feedback that working with me has been inspiring and knowing that I have walked the same path before and recovered has been invaluable.

Client feedback
“Thank you for such a brilliant workshop & introducing me to my new identity as an ambivert. It really is a huge feeling of acceptance for me, so thank you.” – Rachel
“I attended Gemma’s Soul Self Relationships workshop in July 2024. I learned so much about how to implement the knowledge I gained about my own attachment style, where I sit on the introvert/extrovert spectrum, and my love languages to enhance my life and my relationships (especially my relationship with myself). Gemma explained everything very clearly and really made sure that everyone in the group understood the concepts using visual tools and worksheets to illustrate everything very clearly. She gave us very thought-provoking journaling prompts which then really helped us to translate the theory we had learned into more personalised reflections. I now have much more self-knowledge that I am bringing into my day-to-day life. Thank you, Gemma!” – Hannah
“I knew you were wise but WOAH I wasn’t expecting to be so inspired! The way you show up so authentically, open-minded and compassionate is just incredible.” – A
